About Us

When you introduce a piece of handmade, fused glass art into your home, you open your door to a story of creativity, opportunity, and hope.  Each piece represents a chance for South African women to not only provide for their families, but also to showcase their creative talents in African design within a positive, uplifting atmosphere. This atmosphere was created and is upheld by Tilly Marucchi, the founder of this all woman enterprise in South Africa.  Every candle and exquisite piece of this colorful collection is passionately crafted from start to finish by Tilly and her team of five women, who take great pride in breathing life into their functional artwork. 

The masterfully carved African busts are created by Eliot Matimla and his son Frans Matimla under the gentle shade of the Jacaranda tree. To bring each bust to life requires patience, precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.  As a final step, Lalka Brown, the artist transforms these African wood carvings into stunning pieces of art, adorning each character with colors capturing all facets of the African landscape and culture.
